The foundation for all water use, non-consumptive and consumptive, is water quality. The pages featured here, Salinity Control and Selenium Management, highlight two issues that dominate the Gunnison River Basin, however other’s can and do exist. Municipalities publish annual drinking water reports, and other studies and reports have been published with both natural geological layers and human action as contributing factors to below-standard water quality reports.

Our pages here exist as a primer to some of the water quality issues and initiatives in the Gunnison River Basin, with the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment also existing as a great repository of information and resources.
