Gunnison Basin Roundtable

Gunnison Basin Roundtable

According to the Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB),

“The Gunnison Basin stretches over 8,000 square miles of western Colorado, extending from the Continental Divide to the confluence of the Gunnison and Colorado Rivers near Grand Junction.

Nine basin roundtables were established in 2005 by the Colorado Water for the 21st Century Act to facilitate discussions on water management issues and encourage locally driven collaborative solutions, These roundtables represent each of the state’s eight major river basins and the Denver metropolitan area.

The diversity of basin roundtable membership broadens the range of stakeholders who are actively participating in Colorado’s water decisions and brings in hundreds of citizens into the process.
