Reclamation releases preliminary forecasted operations for Taylor Park Reservoir
The March 1 forecast now projects 102,000 AF of runoff into Taylor Park Reservoir between April and July. This is 103% of average and represents a 13,000 AF increase from the Feb 15 forecast.
With a runoff forecast of 102,000 AF, the year type falls into the Average Year category.
Taylor Park Reservoir is now projected to fill to 101,200 AF at an elevation of 9327.5 feet, just 2.5 feet below the spillway crest.
The Average Year category includes a spring peak release of 445 cfs for 5 days, which is included in this preliminary operations plan.
In the Average Year category, the end of season target for reservoir content is 70,000 AF. The preliminary operations plan shows the reservoir finishing the season at a content near 76,000 AF. The preliminary plan includes an early season estimation of releases based on historic operations.
The official release schedule will be discussed and finalized at the Four Parties meeting later in the year. The official release schedule will likely change the current projection for end of season content.
