A New Kind of Conference for Water Leaders of Today and Tomorrow
Western Colorado University in Gunnison will host water leaders of today and tomorrow – undergraduate and graduate students, young water professionals, as well as “water elders” – at the first-ever Western Water Futures Games.
Working in teams, conference participants will collaborate to solve real-world water problems and reckon with the pressures of explosive population growth in the West and the effects of climate change on water and water use.
Situated at the headwaters of the Colorado River, Western Colorado University has been dubbed “The Headwaters University of the American Southwest”. This new kind of conference promises innovation and creative thinking — along with camping, music, and treks into the field.
